Haggadah shel Pesach. Bombay, 1846. Especially Rare Haggadah

The haggadah service in Hebrew with a commentary in Marathi by the expert Rabbi Chaim Yosef Chilgoa of Cochin, and with an elucidation in Marathi by R' Chaim Yitzchak Galtzorcher, printed for the first time. Lithograph.

The first haggadah printed for the 'Bnei Yisrael' community in India, and also the first haggadah with a Marathi translation. The translation is printed on facing pages.

The title page bears a picture of Moshe and Aharon. At the beginning of the haggadah, there are three leaves printed with small pictures of the simanim of the Seder, with explanations in Marathi.

Interesting detail: Before the end of bedikat chametz and bi'ur chametz, there are the halachahs of hag'alat and tevillat keilim in Marathi. There is a blessing printed there (in Hebrew) ... al ha'ga'alat keilim ["... אשר קדשנו במצותיו וצונו על הגעלת הכלים"]. The blessing is completely unknown and is not referenced in adjudicative literature.

Rare and sought-after haggadah, especially in such beautiful condition.
