Halcha V'Refuah. An Important Article on Organ Transplants with Additions and Comments in the Handwriting of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach
An encompassing article on the topic of organ transplants in all of its halachic aspects by Dr. Avraham Avraham with comments in the handwriting of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.
[9] pages. A photocopy of the article which was written by typewriter. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach reviewed the article very thoroughly, and he polished it and wrote his comments on the page between the lines. He also edited and corrected his own words which were quoted in the article, and from his comments one can learn about his great exactness and caution with every written letter.
In the article's margins Dr. Avraham wrote that Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach reviewed the article, and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman wrote next to this in his handwriting "in my opinion it is better not to write this".
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, one of the great halachic rulers of the last generations was the first Rabbi to deal with all of the practical questions which arose with the development of medicine and technology. Without a doubt the question of organ transplant is the biggest practical question which arrived to him, and he dealt with it in extensively.
