Two Letters from the Congregation of Ragusa, Sicily to the Community of Trieste, Italy. 1826, 1867
Two letters from the community of Ragusa in Sicily to the community of Trieste in Italy, with requests for support. 1826, 1867. Eastern handwriting. 
The first letter from 1826 is signed by the Rabbi of the Ragusa community Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Mondolfo in which he describes the terrible situation and requests to transfer money "to...the rich man Yaakov son of Rabbi Chananya Menervi".
[1] paper leaf. 37*48cm. Folded into a letter with signs of a red wax stamp. 
The second letter from 1867 was sent soon after the death of Rabbi Mondolfo, and contains eulogies on him and a request for help. This letter was signed by the distinguished members of the congregation in Latin letters. 
[1] blue paper leaf. 28*46cm. Folded into a letter with a red wax stamp. 
Folding signs. A few tears with no lack. Fine condition.
