WEHRMACHT MEDIC'S HAVERSACK
German Model 1939 haversack, measuring 14 x 12 x 4 in., constructed of canvas with brown leather buckles and covered on the front by brown pony fur. The top flap bears a stitched-on leather disk bearing a painted red cross atop a white field, suggesting its use by a Wehrmacht medic or German Red Cross worker. The inside opens with two canvas flaps, with additional pockets on the reverse of the front flap. The top of the rear side of the pack bears a worn, largely illegible maker's stamp, yet bears the date '1940'. Each shoulder strap bears a 'waffenamt' inkstamp. Near fine condition, with intact straps and present and functional buckles.
