OTTO STRASSER
(1897 - 1974) German politician and journalist who broke with Hitler and organized the Schwarze Front, exiled in 1933 and founded the Free German Movement. Fine lot of four items, includes an I.S.P., 8 x 10 in. b/w, a post-war portrait, and a T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Paradise, Oct. 23, 1954. He tells his correspondent that he is pleased that communication has been made with a 'Dr. Erckmann', and discusses his 'visa battle' wherein Bonn sought to have him extradited to Germany. WITH: BERNARD STRASSER, the brother of Otto and Gregor who became a Catholic priest, two signed items including: signed typescript, 17pp. 4to., 1953, a lengthy historical overview: 'Gregor and Otto Strasser : a footnote to the history of Nazi Germany', describing the brothers' involvement in the Nazi Party and events thereafter; and a T.L.S., 1p. oblong, Norfolk, Neb., Dec. 30, 1975, mentioning that he had no documents from his brother Gregor. The latter two items bear some toning. Four pieces total.
