KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Excellent S.P., 4.25 x 3.25 in. b/w, a war-date Hoffmann press photograph showing Donitz standing with Adolf Hitler and Hermann Goering, signed at upper-left in black ink with hand-inked date: '31.7.75'. The verso bears Hoffmann's press inkstamp, beneath an inscription that 'Grossadmiral Karl Donitz signed this for Bill Rasmussen [renowned American militaria collector]...7/31/75 in Hamburg'. Fine condition.
