JOACHIM EGGELING
(1884 - 1945) Gauleiter of Saxony and Anhalt, an SS-Obergruppenfuhrer he committed suicide when he realized he could not defend Halle. S.P., 3.5 x 5.5 in. b/w, a chest-up portrait of Eggeling in uniform, proudly donning his Golden Party Badge and Iron Cross, First Class. On the verso, an individual has added the light pencil inscription: 'Shown in Hamilton Book Page 373', presumably Charles Hamilton's 'Leaders & Personalities of the Third Reich'. Tiny spots of foxing on the verso, else very fine.
