GEBHARD HIMMLER
(1898-1982) Elder brother of Reichsfuhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler, also serving as a Nazi functionary and Wehrmacht colonel on the Eastern Front. Scarce pair of two signed items, includes: S.P., 3 x 4 in. b/w, an image of Gebhard and Heinrich Himmler standing together in pre-World War II uniforms, signed at the lower-right in blue ink. Fine. SOLD WITH: Great content T.L.S., 3pp 4to., Munich, April 5, 1959, providing a lengthy summation of his civil and military career during World War II, addressed to a researcher. Largely untranslated, yet noting: '...after the war the interrogators...almost didn't want to believe that I was only colonel...the reason was very simple...as Heinrich Himmler's brother, there was no exception or preference! I did not strive for this either...It is better to go your own way through your own performance...' Much more content. Staple holes, else fine.
