FRANZ HALDER
(1884 -1972) One-time German chief of staff until transferred to the reserves by Hitler due to policy disputes. Suspected of plotting against Hitler's life in 1944, he was interned at Flossenburg until his rescue by the Allies. Good lot of four signed items, includes: A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Hohenaschau, April 23, 1964; A.L.S. on the verso of a 12mo. postcard, Karlsruhe, May 12, 1955; T.L.S. on a 12mo. greeting card, Aschau, Aug. 6, 1964; and a signature in blue ink on a 12mo. greeting card, adding the date 'Dec. 1956'. All are written in German to prolific American military historian CHARLES B. BURDICK, providing information for his many books on the High Command of the Wehrmacht (OKW). All are untranslated by us, but given the source they most certainly feature good content, and are worthy of research. All very good.
