ERNIE PYLE
(1900 - 1945) American journalist who covered the Allied campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, France and the Far East, killed at Okinawa. Signed book, Pyle's memoir from the North African campaign: 'Here Is Your War' (New York: Henry Holt and Company), 1943. 304pp. 8vo., in beige cloth, with dust jacket, nicely signed in black ink on the front flyleaf. Owner's bookplate on opposite paste-down, breaking at the gutter and could use light glue touch-up thereat, else fine.
