BENNO MARTIN IS PROMOTED GENERAL IN THE WAFFEN-SS
BENNO MARTIN Gestapo chief, SS-Obergruppenfuhrer, Waffen-SS general and Police and Higher SS leader in Nuremberg. Indicted and tried for complicity in the deportation of Franconian Jews to Auschwitz, acquitted. SS Personnel Department copy of Martin's promotion to 'General der Waffen-SS under der Polizei', per orders of Adolf Hitler, 1p. 4to., Berlin, June 20, 1944, signed with stamped signature by SS Personnel Department Chief WALTER SCHMITT (1879-1945). File holes and a chip in one corner, else near fine.
