Large Rare Antique French Bronze Sculpture by Emile Laporte (French, 1858 - 1907) | Sculpture depicts a young John the Baptist holding a cross in the left hand and pointing the right hand to Heaven | Signed "E. LAPORTE" to side of base | Approx. Size: 29" H (74cm) | Emile Laporte (French, 1858 - 1907) was born in Paris, France, and studied under Dumont. Laporte made his debut at the Salon in 1881, and exhibited there regularly until 1906, just before his death in 1907.
