Male Shop Figure Architectural Ornament
Unknown American Manufacturer Circa 1875 - 28" Tall (On Base) x 14". The figure is 22" Tall by itself. Wide Outstanding Original Dry Surface Several of these magical serene-faced figure's have come to light over the last fifty years. The mounting holes in the casting indicate that the figure was used as some form of architectural ornamentation on the facade of a building. The figure's headdress, which resembles tobacco leaves, may further pinpoint its use as a trade stimulator for a tobacconists shop. It's serenity and subtle beauty is entrancing.
