Handwritten Responsa of R. Amram Blum, Author of 'Beis Shearim.

A lengthy handwritten letter (13 large leaves) by R. Amram Blum, author of 'Beis Shearim'. This responsum from 1884 was written to R. Menashe Simcha Friedman, Rabbi of Savranz, and discusses issues regarding the laws pertaining to witnesses and various other topics.

R. Amram Blum (1834-1907) was a grandson of the Great R. Amram Chasida (Rosenbaum), and a disciple of the K'sav Sofer, as well as R. Meir Perles of Karoly (Carei). He was one of the leading Hungarian Poskim and corresponded with virtually all of Hungary's Rabbis. His responsa was published in 'Beis Shearim'.

This responsum was printed in the New Teshuvos Beis Shearim, which was published in 2000 by 'Machon Mishna Halachos' under the direction of his grandson, the Ga'on R. Menashe Klein, Rabbi of Ungvar.

[7] pages, 13 handwritten leaves. 34 cm. In good-fair condition. Pages 1-2 are torn in several areas resulting in loss of text. The other pages are torn in half, causing a loss of letters to some pages. Letters from R. Amram Blum in his own handwriting are exteremly rare.
