Content: Text of the Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim simanim 429-494 alongside an extensive commentary. In the subsequent editions, the work was printed together with Chok Yaakov by Rabbi Yaakov Reischer which also deals with these laws, and the book was called Chukim Tovim.

Background: The author was the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Broide of Czechoslovakia-Germany, one of the great rabbis of his time. With approbations of Rabbi Moshe son of Rabbi Avraham Broide, who was the author's brother-in-law, along with other approbations. He also wrote the book Shoresh Yosef which appears in the catalog before us as well.

Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer [c. 1870-1939], rabbi and kabbalist, one of the greatest adjudicators of his time, especially known for his book Kaf HaChaim on the Orach Chaim and Yoreh Deah sections of the Shulchan Aruch, which serves as one of the fundamental books of Sephardic halacha. Born in Baghdad to his father Rabbi Yitzchak Baruch Sofer. Studied in several yeshivas and was a disciple of Rabbi Abdallah Somech and the Ben Ish Chai. In 1904 he immigrated to Israel, settled in Jerusalem and studied in the "Shoshanim L'David" yeshiva, the kabbalistic "Beit El" Yeshiva in Jerusalem and the yeshiva of kabbalists "Rechovot HaNahar."

Condition: Fine. Minimal worming holes in the inner margins. New semi-leather binding.
