Ownership signature of the small one Yitzchak Itzik Grieshaber of Krakow on the title page, and a long handwritten gloss on page 25.
Background: Rabbi Yitzchak Itzik Grieshaber (1745-1823), one of the great sages of his generation, served as rabbi of Paks, Hungary. Disciple of the 'Noda B'Yehuda' of Prague. Corresponded in responsa with the 'Noda B'Yehuda' and the 'Chatam Sofer.'
He became famous due to his polemic against Aharon Chorin regarding the kosher status of the 'shtirl' fish. Refer to Meorei Galicia part 6 column 381, which writes that he was born in Krakow.
Condition: Fine. Minimal worming holes and age stains. Simple binding.
