Background: Rabbi Yeshaya HaKohen Rubin was the rabbi of Mihalifalva. He was born in [1842] and studied with the Ktav Sofer and Rabbi Chaim Zvi Mannheimer. In 1862, he began serving as rabbi of Belenyes; and beginning in 1869, rabbi in Mihalifalva.
