Letter to Rabbi S. Y. Gross, with the signature of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov Friedman of Sadigura, chairman of the World Central Committee of Agudat Yisrael. Jerusalem, 1954.

Content: Invitation from the Admor of Sadigura to participate in a preliminary meeting of the Central Council of Agudat Yisrael, before the meeting of the fourth Knessiah Gedolah. This was the first Knessiah Gedolah to be convened in Israel, as is printed on the top of the letter before us.

Background: Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura (the second), the 'Abir Yaakov' [1884-1960], was also appointed as Admor following his father's passing. He established a yeshiva in Sadigura, together with his brother Rabbi Shlomo Chaim. He immigrated to Israel in 1938, and was one of the prominent Admors of Tel Aviv. He was a long-time member of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael, and served as its chairman for a short term. His nephew, Rabbi Mordechai Shalom Yosef Friedman, the "Knesset Mordechai, " was the Admor of Sadigura.
