Letter from the Admor of Kołaczyce and Rabbi of Rzeszow Rabbi Chuna Halberstam

Letter written and signed in the handwriting of the Admor Chuna Halberstam.

Specifications: [1] leaf, paper. Letter with [7] lines, additional signature line.

Unique features: Before his signature, the Admor writes that he is deep in debt and asks that the letter be shared with his relatives and people who knew him when he was younger, and perhaps additional people. He signed his name "Chuna Halberstam son of ... the rabbi of Fristik shlit"a, " indicating that the letter was written prior to 1927, because his father Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak passed away in 1927.

Background: Admor Chuna ben Menachem Mendel Halberstam was the Admor of Kołaczyce [Kalashitz]. In 1923 he was appointed rabbi of Rzeszow [Reisha], where, with the cooperation of the local youth, he established the Zera Kodesh yeshiva. He was murdered in the Holocaust together with his entire family. His works Bein HaShemashos, Torat Mikvah and booklets that were originally published anonymously, were reprinted after the war under the title Divrei Chuna.

Condition: Very fine.
