Specifications: [1] leaf, paper written on both sides. 13x20 cm. The letter is in the handwriting and with the stamp and signature of Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Naftali Zilberberg.

Content: Rabbi Zilberberg sends money to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld for the gabbai of the Gemach and Beit Midrash of Kollel Warsaw, to be distributed to those who learn in memory of Rabbi Yehoshua Levinsky, the dayan of Breslau, on the anniversary of his death for the next twenty years. The letter lists the order of the study and prayer and the necessary financial arrangements.

Background: Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Naftali Zilberberg [1850-1930], was one of the foremost dayanim of Warsaw. Student of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter and the 'Beit HaLevi.' Confidante of the Netziv and the 'Chafetz Chaim.' Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman called him "The righteous gaon." He was very active in strengthening observance of Shabbat and family purity, and printed a Kol Koreh poster to encourage keeping halacha. He printed the works of his father, Rabbi Avraham Binyamin Av Beit Din of Viroshov, and the writings of his grandfather the Kutno gaon, author of Zayit Ra'anan.

Condition: Fine, filing holes, fold marks. Aging stains.
