Parchment amulet for health—in the holy handwriting of the Rav Yitzhak Khadouri.
A narrow, long amulet, ink on parchment, handwritten by the Zaken HaMekubalim, HaRav Yitzhak Khadouri. 56 lines, a prayer and holy names for health, written in the Mizrahi/Yerushalmi handwriting typical of Rav Khadouri, with many holy names written in annotated Assyrian script. Rabbi Yitzhak Khadouri: Born in the late 19th century in Baghdad (Babel—Iraq). In his youth he knew and saw the Ben Ish Hai, he received Torah study from the sages of Bavel and Jerusalem—to which he immigrated in 1922. In his first years in Jerusalem he earned an income binding books, and studied at the Beit El and Porat Yosef yeshivot in the Old City. Over the years his knowledge of mysticism became public knowledge, and many travelled to his house to ask for blessings and advice and to receive amulets. He died at an old age, more than 100 years old, in 2006. At his funeral, multitudes of Israelis from all walks of life took part. Size 5x38cm, excellent condition. The name of the sick person was erased.
