African Tribal Divination Figure, Makonde, Tanzania
African Tribal Art: Makonde people, Tanzania, Male Figure, Late 19th/early 20th Century. Carved wood with a dark patina. The legs are wrapped in multi-colored fabric and natural resin. The top of the head has a hole for insertion of ritual/medicinal materials. The figure comes with a wooden display stand.

DIMENSIONS: 16.5" figure/ 18.5" with stand

PROVENANCE: Private collection.

CONDITION: Good condition with evidence of handling and age. Minor wood losses along the lower rim.
