FRENCH COMPOSERS: An excellent selection of A.Ls.S., by fifteen French Composers, containing Vincent d'Indy (1851-1931), one page, 4to, 30th October 1930, on the Schola Cantorum printed stationery. D´Indy explains that it is right to sell a mall choir work to whoever he wants, saying `I do not remember having signed nor agreed anything related to this small work for a friend.. it belongs to you. If so I will sign a property document´; Gustave Charpentier (1860-1956) one page, 12mo, n.p., n.d.; Ernest Reyer (1823-1909) one page, 12mo.; Vincent Scotto (1874-1952) two pages, oblong 8vo., on his personal printed stationery, to Maurice Garçon. A close and friendly condolences message; Victor Massé (1822-1884) one page, 8vo, 18th April 1869, to French Composer Ambroise Thomas. Massé refers in his letter to Belgian composer François-Auguste Gevaert; Henri Rabaud (1873-1948) one page, 8vo, 1906; Gaston Salvayre (1847-1916) one page, 8vo, 1874. Salvayre states in part `If the decision was in my hands, it is long ago that you would now occupy the important place you deserve.. I do not forget that I owe you everything..´; Henri Sauguet (1901-1989) to a card, showing an image of ballet at the Scala of Milan, Italy, 1958; Giuseppe Cartufo, Spagnoletto (1771-1851) one page, 4to, 22nd August 1813 to Mr. Camerani, secretary of the Opéra-Comique. Referring to a role refused and expressing is concerns; François Joseph Marie Fayolle (1774-1852) one page, 4to, 26th April 1804, on the Athénée printed stationery. Louis Beydts (1895-1953) on a card, 1943, on the Opera Comique printed stationery. Paul Véronge de la Nux (1853-1928) one page, 8vo, 1904. Jean Nouguès (1875-1932) one page, 4to, Paris, n.d.; Louis Varney (1844-1908) one page, 8vo. Isidore de Lara (1858-1935) one page, 12mo. Regretting she cannot attend an invitation as `I sing today at 5´. G to VG, 15
