CYCLISTS: An excellent selection of scarce signed photographs and postcards, most colour, various sizes, mostly 4 x 6, two slightly larger and three smaller, by international cyclists, ten of them being Tour de France winners, comprising rare Tom Simpson (1937-1967) One of the best British professional cyclists. First British to ever wear the Tour de France yellow jersey and first to win the World road race championship. Simpson died at the early age of 29 during the 1967 Tour de France, when he collapsed during the ascent of Mont Ventoux; TEN Tour de France winners comprising André Leducq (1930,1932), Antonin Magne (1931, 1934), Gino Bartali (1938,1948), Federico Bahamontes (1959), Roger Pingeon (1967), Eddy Merckx (1969-72, 1974), Bernard Hinault (1978-79, 1981-82, 1985), Greg Lemond (1986, 1989-90), Stephen Roche (1987) and Andy Schleck (2010). Also comprising Charles Pélissier, Levi Leipheimer, Herman Van Springel, Ferdinand Bracke, Rick Van Looy, Rudi Altig, Riccardo Ricco, Gilberto Simoni, Tom Leezer, Bauke Mollema and Piotr Ugrumov. All are boldly signed, most to clear areas of the images, some are inscribed. G, 22
