Sefer Ha'Aruch – Soncino Printing House (Pezaro) 1517 – with a Handwritten Completion

Sefer Ha'Aruch by Rabbi Nathan Yechiel of Rome. Interpretations of Talmudic words and concepts. Printed by Soncino Printing House, one of the first Hebrew printing houses, which was known for the precision of its books.

The first two pages as well as pages 133-139 are missing and were completed by hand. The handwriting is impressive and clear and similar to the shape of the printed letters of the book. Throughout the book, there are several handwritten notes and at its end, a signature: "Ha'Zair Akivah ben Arye".

A small note is added to the book on which the Piyut "Yashir Yisrael Shir Noam" by Rabbi Yisrael Najara is written in ancient Sephardic handwriting, as well as the Piyut "Ha'El Ha'Ira U'Re'e" by Rabbi Yitzchak Ha'Seniri.

177 pp.

Condition: Most of the pages are in excellent condition. Few pages are worn with slight damage to text. The title page is missing. Ancient, damaged wooden cover. Some of the pages are loose and few pages are detached.
