Silesian insurgent while writing a letter. Pencil drawing. Author Pawel Holewik. Dimensions 34 x 25 cm. Silesian Uprisings are three armed conflicts in Upper Silesia that took place in 1919–1921 between the Polish and German populations. They took place during the formation of the Polish State after the end of World War I. The author of the drawing was one of the insurgents.
