EDUARD DALADIER
(1884 - 1970) French 'radical' politician and the Prime Minister of France at the start of World War II. Daladier was a signatory to the disastrous Munich Pact. Rare T.L.S. on Chamber of Deputies letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Paris, Jan. 2, 1923, to an unknown individual in French. In part: '…Accept my best wishes as well as those of Madame Bouat...I deeply regret not being able to go to Nimes before Easter, but I don't have any days free before that date...' Mounting remnants on the verso, some tiny holes at upper-right, else very good. Sold with an American press photograph of the signers of the Munich Pact, and a period German postcard from 1938, showing Daladier speaking with Adolf Hitler.
