CHINESE PATRIOTIC LEATHER HEAD REST
Chinese headrest of stiffened leather, approx. 11.25 x 4 in. dia., painted red and black throughout, with a central painted panel depicting a soldier, a farmer, and a worker carrying a copy of Mao Zedong's 'Little Red Book', with the slogan: 'Stride Forward under the Guidance of Mao Zedong Thought!' The ends are painted with scenes of birds perched on peony branches, with the inscriptions: 'Fuzhou Leather Factory' and 'Real Leather, Replacement Guaranteed, 1966'. The paint is chipped in several areas, and the leather is chipped at one end, revealing the wicker frame beneath, else very good.
