MILLARD FILLMORE
(1800 - 1874) Thirteenth President of the United States who succeeded to the presidency upon the death of Taylor. A.L.S. on mourning letterhead, 1p. 8vo., 'Aug. 5' [n.y., possibly 1853 as his wife, First Lady Abigail Fillmore, died on Mar. 30, 1853], to a 'Miss Fuller'. In full: 'Will Miss Fuller let the bearer have such papers as have been examined for the Cabin…' Slight offsetting, else very good.
