IMPERIAL DUTCH OFFICER'S SABER
Ornate imperial 'lion's head' officer's saber from the Netherlands, 34.5 in. blade, 39 in. overall, bearing the faint maker's mark 'Frans Pauwels s'Gravenhage' on the side of the blade. The black bakelite grip bears a small crack towards the pommel end, and is wrapped with 10 brass wires within the grip's grooves; one wire appears to be absent. The handguard and 'lion's head' pommel remains in very good condition, save for some slight scuffs. The blade itself bears notable surface scratches, and the scabbard bears some pitting and surface abrasion throughout, with one dent toward the crossguard. Still very good condition, with no notable chips apparent.
