Lot of three World War I propaganda posters, two from the U.S. Food Administration and one from the United War Work campaign. Includes: Black-and-white poster, 18.5 x 15.5 in., titled 'SUGAR MEANS SHIPS', showing a woman drinking a sugared beverage in front of a war-torn Europe, with some ships labeled 'Sugar' deviating from the chain of war supply ships. The bottom-right bears the publisher's mark of the Carey Printing Company. One slight tear at left edge, archivally repaired on the verso, else near fine condition. WITH: Black-and-white U.S. Food Administration. poster, 14 x 21.5 in., titled 'HEROIC WOMEN OF FRANCE TOILING TO PRODUCE FOOD', bearing printed quotes from Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, and Alonzo Taylor, and asks at bottom: 'ARE YOU DOING YOUR PART?' The bottom margin bears the publication line of the Wynkoop Hallenbeck Crawford Company of New York. Tiny chip at bottom-right corner, else near fine. WITH: Full-text United War Work poster, 18.75 x 25.25 in., reading in full: 'THIS CHURCH IS BEHIND THE UNITED WAR WORK CAMPAIGN For the Boys Over There'. Some creasing, else near fine condition.
