WORLD WAR I PRUSSIAN MUSKETEER'S SOLDBUCH
Strange post-World War I soldbuch issued to Prussian musketeer Heinrich Heitmann, born July 20, 1894, who served with the 4th Campaign, Infantry Regiment 117. The interior pages state that he is the recipient of the Iron Cross, and contains his particulars and other details. The book was oddly issued on Jan 26, 1919 - almost two months after the end of World War I and during the demilitarization of the German Army. The reason for this book's existence is therefore unknown to us, yet it was potentially created as a record-keeping measure, since the 117th Infantry Regiment was disbanded in 1919. Covers loose, else very good condition.
