CHINA-BURMA-INDIA "BLOOD CHIT"
CHINA-BURMA-INDIA BLOOD CHIT" Original multi-piece leather 'blood chit', 9.5 in. square, depicting Nationalist Chinese and American flags side-by-side at top, above a U.S. military 'China-Burma-India' insignia and a printed message in Chinese identifying the bearer as an ally in need of aid. These 'blood chits' were most commonly associated with American aircrews operating over Asia during World War II, particularly the 'Flying Tigers' and their successors, and are most often seen sewn onto these crewmen's flight jackets. This example shows some soiling overall, else very good.
