AMERICAN WAR-DATE MAP OF CHINA
Rare printed map 'River and Railway Map of China', issued by the 'Office of the American Military Attache, China', Oct. 2, 1941. The 20 x 17 in. map reproduction of a hand-drawn map depicts China and neighboring countries from Dairen to Haiphong, west to Yumen and Burma, with primary railroads and larger rivers boldly indicated. The map, lightly toned, has tack holes in the corner and clearly was hung upon a wall for a long period of time. Some of the Chinese cities have been circled in ink as well. Folds, backed in silk. Sold with a 5 x 7 in. b/w photo showing a sign in Chinese and English posted upon the 'Ledo Road' in 1945 which provided a ground route between India and China. Also present is an instruction sheet on the use of the M-1945 Field Pack (silked). From the estate of an American CBI veteran.
