BIKINI ATOLL BOMBING PHOTOS
Excessively rare set of six official U.S. Air Force photographs from the July-August, 1946 Project Crossroads atomic bomb tests Able and Baker, the first atomic bomb tests following the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, held at Bikini Atoll. The 8 x 10 in. glossy photos include images of the explosion with target ships visible, a schematic of the vessels' locations, aerial views of a blast, and a pre-evacuation photo of Bikini Islanders in a village: '...Village life...is placid. Native villagers rest in the shade...'. Very good.
