RODION MALINOVSKY AND FILIPP GOLIKOV

Partly-printed D.S. by RODION MALINOVSKY (1898 - 1967), Soviet marshal, led the powerful Soviet Second Guards and sealed the fate of 250,000 German and other Axis soldiers trapped in the Stalingrad pocket, defeated 400,000 Axis troops in Hungary, and FILIPP GOLIKOV
(1900 - 1980), Soviet Marshal, best known for not passing on to Stalin intelligence about German invasion plans in June 1941, either because he did not believe them or because Stalin made it very clear he did not want to hear them. The document, 4pp. sm. folio, [n.p.], 1959, is a military attestation for Colonel Afanasi Filipenko, Head of Personnel Development of the 1st Army. Malinkovsky signs as Head Commander of Far Eastern Troops at the top of the third page. Golikov signs as Head of the Attestation Committee beneath Malinovsky's signature. Marginal chip, else very good.
