MAXIMILIAN RITTER VON POHL
(1893 - 1951) Luftwaffe General, Recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on June 15, 1944 as General der Flieger and commanding general of the Luftwaffe in central Italy. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., Rome, Sept. 1, 1942, an award certificate for the War Merit Cross with Swords, Second Class, issued to Feldwebel Kurt Ulrich. Von Pohl signs at the bottom in black ink. Two file holes, else fine. Sold with three other paper items issued to Ulrich, including his award certificate for the Sudetenland Medal and spange, 1p. oblong 8vo., Nuremberg, June 30, 1940, signed at bottom-right by an Oberstleutnant; a war leave certificate, issued in Italy on Sept. 30, 1941; and three various ID cards.
