KARL FIEHLER
(1895 - 1969) Nazi Party member and mayor of Munich from 1933 until 1945. Fiehler was zealously anti-Semitic and saw to it that the Jewish population of the city was persecuted and later deported for extermination. After the war in January 1949, Fiehler was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. His black ink signature at the bottom of a dinner menu, 4.25 x 6.75 in., which itself bears the date '9.XI.1933' and a blind-embossed emblem reading 'Munich City Councilor'. Shows a paper clip mark at top left, else very good.
