JOSEF FITZTHUM
(1896 - 1945) Senior SS-Gruppenfuhrer and Special Representative of the Reichsfuhrer-SS in Albania, appointed directly by Heinrich Himmler to rebuild the Albanian police force and soon became the most powerful man in the entire country. Fitzthum was also Deputy Chief of Police in Vienna after the Anschluss, where he worked with Heinrich Himmler, Karl Wolff, Reinhard Heydrich and Ernst Kaltenbrunner to review Austrian police forces in Vienna. Very rare S.P., 4.25 x 7 in. glossy b/w, a chest-up portrait of Fitzthum in uniform, signed at bottom in black ink.
