SHCHERBAKOV BORIS VALENTINOVICH (1916, MOSCOW – 1995, MOSCOW).
The corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of USSR (1973). The People’s Artist of RSFSR. The Laureate of the Stalin prize which he received together with a group of artists (1951-1953) for painting «Meeting of the Board of The Academy of Sciences of USSR». He studied in the Academy of Arts (1933-1939) where he took classes by I. Brodsky, V. Yakovlev, and P. Shukhmin. A participant of exhibitions since 1939. His works are in many museums of former USSR, in the White House and in the Congress of USA, in collections of the British Royal House. Canvases by B.V. Shcherbakov are kept in the Tretyakov State Gallery, the State Russian Museum.
