Autograph letter by R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz to R. Itche Meir Levin “Chasna D’Bei Nesiah H’Admor M’Gur HaGaon HaKodosh Shlita”, on behalf of a bochur who wanted to immigrate to Eretz Yisroel.
The honorifics which R. Boruch Ber writes about the Gerrer Rebbe (Imrei Emes) are indicative of the esteem accorded to the Gerrer Rebbe in Lithuania.
Written on Chanukah, R. Boruch Ber concludes the letter נר ב’ דחנוכה תרפ”ד הרחמן הוא יעשה לנו ניסים
R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz (1864-1940), was one of the most prominent students of R. Chaim Brisker and was a leading Rosh yeshiva in Lithuania in the years immediately preceding the Holocaust. His yeshiva in Kaminetz became a great center of Torah with students coming from all over the world to hear his Shiurim. His classic work Birchas Shmuel is a fundamental work learned in many Yeshivos worldwide.
