Rare autograph letter by R. Avrohom Grodzensky seemingly to R. Dovid Dainovsky of the Lomza Kollel in Petach Tikva, regarding the financial struggles of his family and of the Kollel. R. Grodzensky advises him to travel to America to raise funds. With mention of regards for R. Reuven Katz of Petach Tikva and R. Yitzchak Meir Ben-Menachem (son-in-law if R. Isser Zalman Meltzer).
R Avrohom Grodzensky (1884-1944), learned in the Slabodka Yeshiva becoming one of the closest students of the Alter of Slabodka. The Alter, referred to him as “my portion from all my efforts”. Known a great Ba’al mussar and a master educator, he served as the Mashgiach in the Slabodka Yeshiva. In 1925, he was sent by the Heads of the Yeshiva to establish a branch in Eretz Yisroel together with R. Yechezkel Sarna, however he later returned to Slabodka. He continued to lead and inspire the Slabodka Yeshiva during the Holocaust until he was murdered by the Nazis. Brother in law of R. Yaakov Kamenetsky and father in law of R. Chaim Kreiswirth R. Shloime Wolbe and R. Boruch Rosenberg.
