Chut Hashani, Frankfurt 1679, First edition. Signature of Rabbi Yaakov Akiva Sofer of Miava on title-page. Other signatures on end-papers: ‘Moshe of Miava’ [Rabbi Moshe Schreiber of Miava and Vienna] and ‘hakatan Wolf ben Yehuda Leib y’tz’ (an old signature).

Rabbi Yaakov Akiva Sofer (1839-1912), eldest son of the Kesav Sofer and son-in-law of Rabbi Shmuel of Miava. A great Torah scholar who did not hold a rabbinical position.

Rabbi Moshe Sofer (1862-1940), sonof Rabbi Yaakov Akiva and studied Torah from him before continuing at the Yeshiva of the Shevet Sofer in Pressburg.
