Shepard Hardware Co. Buffalo, NY - 1888 The "Trick Pony" bank evokes the mystique of the carousel horse. How is it possible that a finely carved wooden pony can bend his head forward to get a sip of imaginary water? Yet, because of the ingenuity of mechanical bank designers, he magically comes to life. Place a coin in the pony's mouth and pull the lever. The pony leans forward to deposit the coin into his trough. A far superior and bright example. Provenance: Donal P. Markey Collection.
