A VICTORIAN ERA RENAISSANCE SHIELD WITH MEDUSA
A bronze Victorian period shield, copy of a Renaissance era shield. Decorated with gilded relief elements. The ornate leaves of acanthus surround two lion heads (larger on top and smaller on bottom). In the center is the head of the formidable Gorgon Medusa. The border of the shield is decorated with a number of outlets.
