GLAZUNOV ALEXANDER: (1865-1936) Russian Composer, Conductor and music Teacher. Dmitri Shostakovich was his best-known student. Rare A.L.S., A. Glazunov, one page, folio, Berlin, 31st January 1931, to Ivan Grigorievich, in Cyrillic. Glazunov refers to his late response, and also for not having received his correspondent´s promised news, further stating in part `I waited for your letter until my unexpected departure for Berlin on December 23rd and I concluded that nothing had been arranged for Athens. But then I learned that you had been ill and that your letter had been returned to you. Unfortunately, that is the way they always handle registered mail in France. Not knowing any of that, I initiated negotiations for a tour of the Baltic countries..´ Folded. Large tears to the centre folds with trimmed edges. F to G
