Unusual paperback joke booklet, 52pp. oblong 8vo., published by the Waffen-SS Panzergrenadier 35th Training and Replacement Battalion, sarcastically memorializing the comfort felt by the regiment at the small city of Konitz. This well-illustrated and hand-colored booklet also contains numerous typed comedic poems in German, largely untranslated, yet one jokes about Jesus Christ returning to Earth then running and weeping after meeting an unnamed battalion recruit, and other pieces playfully mock members of the battalion. A later page is folded centrally, and unfolded bears the original signatures of approx. 25 individuals, likely SS-soldiers from the 35th Battalion. Slight wear to the covers, yet interior pages in very good to near fine condition. Our research could not find similar examples, so this piece is likely unique.
