GERMAN PHOTO ALBUM ALONG THE SIEGFRIED LINE
Photo album, 13 x 9 in., from 1939-1940 containing 149 original photographs, most about 3.75 x 2.5 in., along the Siegfried Line. Most images are fairly innocuous, yet later pictures showcase the devastation of French towns and infrastructure, the escorting of French prisoners, plane wreckage, unexploded bombs, and a somber German soldier at a makeshift graveyard. Album's covers are made of patterned leather, fine.
