SS LEADER QUESTIONNAIRE FOR REICH GOVERNOR ARTHUR GREISER

ARTHUR GREISER (1897 - 1946) SS-Obergruppenfuhrer and Reich Governor of the German-occupied territory of Wartheland. He was one of the persons primarily responsible for organizing the Holocaust in Poland, ordering mass deportations, gassing mental patients, and asked and received permission from Himmler to kill 100,000 Jews in his area. He later killed 150,000 more using gas vans. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p., likely Danzig], [n.d., ca. 1932-1935], an SS leader questionnaire completed by Greiser as Gaugeschaftsfuhrer, listing his personal details, previous SS ranks, military history during World War I, and his joining the Nazi Party in 1929. The document was received and stamped by WERNER LORENZ (1891 - 1974), German Waffen-SS general, leader of the Repatriation Office for Ethnic Germans, an organization charged with settling ethnic Germans in other parts of Europe, at bottom left. Greiser signs in the bottom-right. File holes, else fine.
