MAP OF THE NORTH AFRICAN BATTLE OF ALAM HAFTA, SIGNED BY ROMMEL''S CHIEF OF STAFF
FRITZ BEYERLEIN (1899 - 1970) German general, served as Afrika Korps Chief of Staff under Erwin Rommel. Signed well-illustrated tricolor map, approx. 12.25 x 9.5 in., certainly published postwar, showing the troop positions of both German and British forces at the Battle of Alam Hafta. The top right is labeled '77', and was likely one of a series of battle maps. The reverse provides more textual information about the history of the North African campaign. Beyerlein signs at the right, adding rank and the inscription: 'Chief of Staff to Rommel'. Some minor surface creases, one original vertical fold, else fine.
